The ranking is based on graduate outcomes data analysed by the Daily Mail and published alongside its University Guide, in which Herts placed 52nd out of 128 UK institutions.
The analysis considers the proportion of graduates entering highly skilled employment, graduate salaries, and whether recent graduates feel their careers are on track to measure the workplace readiness of university leavers.
Professor Anthony Woodman, vice-chancellor of the University of Hertfordshire, said: “We’re delighted to see our graduates’ success recognised in these rankings.
“Supporting students to achieve their ambitions and progress into rewarding careers is at the heart of what we do.
“The strong result reflects the University of Hertfordshire’s longstanding focus on career-focused education, with courses shaped by employer input and enhanced by professional accreditations, industry partnerships and extensive placement opportunities that help students gain real-world experience alongside their studies.”
The Daily Mail described Herts as “a well-respected, highly ranked modern university” and highlighted ongoing investment in facilities and innovation.
The university’s new medical school, which will welcome its first students this year, was singled out alongside its strengths in healthcare and engineering education.
The review also noted Herts’ practical approach to learning, from virtual reality healthcare training environments to advanced engineering testing spaces, and praised its commitment to industry-relevant education.
Professor Woodman said: “For anyone considering their next step, these rankings reinforce something we care deeply about at Herts: ensuring our students leave with the skills, experience and confidence to succeed in their careers.
“We know that choosing a university is a significant investment, which is why employability and graduate success are embedded throughout everything we do.
“From industry-informed courses and professional accreditations to work placements, live projects and state-of-the-art facilities, we’re committed to giving our students real value from their degree.
“We’re proud that so many of our graduates go on to secure highly skilled roles, and these results demonstrate the impact of an education that is designed with their future success in mind.”
