AI firm Anthropic is planning to source a significant amount of compute capacity in Canada, including from new data centres in Alberta.  The San Francisco-based company is hiring staff in Canada to help acquire processing power, and to manage relations with the communities that will host its facilities, according to new job postings. Toronto ranks third in the CBRE’s newly released annual analysis of North America’s top hubs for tech employment, based on 13 variously weighted performance indicators and attractants for employers and talent. Canada's Portage College has come up with a new instruction for its students who have been denied a postgraduate work permit by the Canadian government. The college asked the students to find out their local MPs in Canada and approach them, seeking a solution to the situation.
