LOCALE

As a major federal investment, FASTC is the largest employer in Nottoway County and has increased the local demand and investment in housing, lodging for students and visitors, and related amenities. New job opportunities in the area are also occurring, including positions in technology, construction, maintenance, food services, project management, education, and other career fields.

The Blackstone area offers quiet country living with little traffic, large acres of land, and outdoor activities – while still being reasonably close to the city of Richmond and a couple of hours from the suburbs of Washington, D.C.
