Key Responsibilities
In this hybrid role, you will manage a varied caseload, providing high-quality support to residents in need. Your daily responsibilities will include:
* Assessments & Planning: Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals and families to identify their support needs and develop tailored care plans.
* Safeguarding: Actively identifying, investigating, and managing safeguarding concerns to protect vulnerable children or adults at risk.
* Multi-Agency Collaboration: Working closely with schools, healthcare professionals, housing departments, and emergency services to ensure a holistic approach to care.
* Advocacy & Support: Empowering service users, advocating for their rights, and connecting them to vital community resources and services.
* Case Maintenance: Keeping highly accurate, up-to-date, and legally compliant case records using the department’s digital systems.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this application, you must meet the following professional criteria:
* Professional Qualification: A recognized degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, MA, or DipSW).
* Registration: Active registration with **Social Work England (SWE)** is mandatory.
* Experience: Proven experience working as a qualified social worker within a local authority setting (Adults or Children and Families services).
* Skills: Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and crisis management skills, alongside a compassionate and empathetic approach.
* Travel: A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle for community visits is highly desirable.
