We are currently looking for a qualified Social Worker with Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status (Band 7) to join the East Assertive Outreach Team (AOT). This position offers a unique opportunity to work across both hospital inpatient settings and the community, providing social supervision to restricted community patients under the Ministry of Justice.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Social Supervision: Undertake roles and responsibilities of a Social Supervisor in line with Ministry of Justice (MoJ) guidelines, working alongside a Clinical Supervisor.
- Risk Management: Support the effective risk management of service users.
- Reporting: Prepare Social Circumstances Reports and attend Tribunals and Managers hearings under the Mental Health Act.
- Clinical Collaboration: Provide social care expertise to multi-disciplinary teams to support patient discharge planning and work with individual service users to reach recovery goals.
- Support: Offer interventions to families and carers, working across both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Professional Perspective: Incorporate principles of diversity, equality, and human rights into social care.
- AMHP Duties: Act as an AMHP and support the Birmingham City Council city-wide AMHP rota.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Registered Social Worker with AMHP status.
- Essential Experience: Mental health experience and knowledge of Community Treatment Orders (CTOs).
- Desirable: Experience of being a social supervisor, working in the community, and safeguarding expertise.
