Folds of Honor Scholarship | Who Qualifies
The Children’s Fund Scholarship, which is available to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade, and the Higher Education Scholarship, which is available to students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree or a certification at a post-secondary institution, are the two types of scholarship programs offered by the Folds of Honor foundation. Other Important Information
Unmet need
According to Folds of Honor, “unmet need” is the part of your tuition, fees, on-campus housing, meal plans, and necessary textbooks for the term that are not covered by other awards or financial aid. For Higher Education students, loans and work-study are not taken into account when calculating unmet need.
Grade Point
When accepting a scholarship grant, a student must be able to present an official transcript showing a 2.0 term GPA or higher for the two most recent academic terms. This is one of the conditions for the Folds of Honor scholarship.
The scholarship offer will be withdrawn and the student won’t be eligible to reapply until an official transcript can be provided showing two consecutive terms (fall and spring), each with a term GPA of 2.0 or higher. If a student is unable to provide an official transcript with the two most recent term GPAs at 2.0 or higher, the scholarship offer will be rescinded.
Expenses Not Allowed
Off-campus housing (any housing NOT billed through the bursar and/or requiring a lease), Greek housing, fees or meal plans, computers or accessories, specialized field, certification or license exams, student insurance (typically over $1,000), previous year or semester charges, parking/transportation passes, sports tickets, etc. are all prohibited from being paid for with the Higher Education Scholarship.
The Children’s Fund Scholarship is only available for necessary textbooks; it cannot be used to cover costs associated with PTO dues, sports uniforms or fees, music lessons, etc.
If You Are Applying for More than One Child
On our application platform (fohscholarships.communityforce.com), you can create a single account with a single email address, but you must finish an application for each student you wish to receive funding for. You will see the scholarships description page (Higher Education for college and Children’s Fund for private school or tutoring) once you establish an account and log in.
Each scholarship type has a “Start a New Application” button to the right of it. When you click to begin each application, a pop-up window will open; here, you can name your application by student for simpler tracking throughout the application process. After submitting an application, you can use the “Search” option to return to the scholarship description page and begin a new one by clicking it.
