The Emerging Leader Award was established by the Center for Leadership in 2013 to honor

a new generation of leaders who are developing innovative solutions to social and business concerns while also increasing the quality of life in our community.

Criteria For This Scholarship

$1,000 Emerging Leaders Scholarship, Relevance and academic accomplishment are the determining factors. To score applicants, a rubric will be used. If there is a tie, the winner will be chosen at random from those who are tied Scholarship.

The applicant must be a current member of the Honor Society.

Requirements: A description of how leadership is Outside of Honor Society, any leadership positions are also acceptable.
Members must fill out their Honor Society profile and upload a photo of themselves.
Describe the significance of your leadership position to your major, life, or aspirations in up to 500 words.
A copy of the most recent transcript is attached. (It is acceptable to apply with an unofficial transcript.) Before the award is disbursed, the recipient will be required to produce an official transcript.)

Our $1000 Emerging Leaders Scholarship award procedure has been streamlined and improved! Within three weeks following the award’s deadline, recipients should expect to hear back.

What are the Emerging Leaders Scholarship requirements?

An candidate must meet the following criteria in order to be considered:

On a 4.0 scale, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
Have an ACT score of 18 or a SAT score of 950 or above.
Demonstrate previous involvement in school and/or community activities, particularly in leadership roles.
Be a legal resident of the United States.
Accepted to Weber State University and planning to enroll in the Fall Semester of the next academic year, or a current Weber State University student.
Participate in the Department of Student Involvement and Leadership’s Emerging Leaders program successfully.
